Emily Morgan Doubletree Hotel, San Antonio
If you are attending a large work conference, chances are it will be in Texas. Whether it’s Austin, Dallas, or San Antonio…Texas draws large events and crowds! Where to stay?
Regardless of where you are traveling for a conference, it’s key to find a hotel near the convention center. Usually, the organizers will have negotiated group rates with nearby hotels. That said, when I attended the conference in San Antonio, I wasn’t too happy with their partner selections. I set out to find my own accommodations – something more unique.
The Emily Morgan, a Hilton Doubletree hotel, is located right across The Alamo – a tourist destination I had planned to visit. It’s further from the convention center than the other conference hotels, but still within a 10 minute walk. Some days I ended up taking a electric scooter, which was really easy. But most importantly, the hotel has character and significant history and named after a legend. Yes, it’s old and some areas of the hotel needs maintenance (I had a water leak and changed rooms during my stay), but it’s unique and the rooms are spacious. Service was great, and the hotel bar was not bad either (I consumed their braised short rib tacos multiple times).
